Beast was the word of the day today because it pretty much described EVERYTHING that happened.

We played a game involving animal sounds and blindfolds. I promise it wasn’t half as dirty as it sounds. Anyway, the premise of the game was that one person (pooor Teyona) was the only animal of her kind while all other “animals” had groups. This game ended up being a metaphor for the people in our respective communities who weren’t being heard, and after some brainstorming, we discovered ways to do our part to change that.

We had some semi-productive independent work time and an InDesign workshop, which just further proved to me the hopelessness of my technology skills. But after journaling is when it got really beast.

The poetry slam was a major success and lots of fun. Everyone had a great time laughing and snapping and reading their favorite stuff. I loved it. Beast indeed.
