Kristen Lewis
Kristen Marianne Lewis is 16 years old and was born, raised and still lives in Gwinnett County. “We’ve always had a lot of animals,” she says when asked about her childhood. She has four cats; Callie, Max, Shadow, and Gidget. Her family also has a frog named Evian. She lives with her father, mother, and 12 year old younger brother named Caleb.
Her three best friends are Ainsley, Amy and Jessica.
Kristen has been volunteering since she was 12 or 13. She volunteers where her Mom teaches autistic children, at K. E. Taylor Elementary School. She is also on the Teen Advisory Board of the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.
She’s had braces since the summer of 6th grade, and is planning to get them removed soon.
She enjoys studying journalism at her school Collins Hill High School, and is going to be the editor of her school newspaper this year. She is interested in becoming a journalist when she grows up.
Kristen joined VOX because, unlike at her school paper, “I wanted to be able to write about what I felt.”
